I started covering entertainment and pop culture in 1994, recording interviews on cassettes and labeling them with a Sharpie. Fresh out of USC, I began writing for the Los Angeles Times before joining Bailey Broadcasting Services, where I wrote and co-hosted a nationally-syndicated hip hop countdown show as well as two programs that aired on the Black University Radio Network. I eventually joined the junket herd and began covering and reviewing movies. Membership in the Television Critics Association soon followed. All of this activity has resulted in unused chunks of audio interviews that I've since dusted off and digitally transferred from cassettes, DATs and minidiscs to share with like-minded cinephiles. I still cover TV for the culture on Twitter, and post relics from the early days on Instagram.
