Voletta Wallace Shocked by Son’s Life She ‘Never Knew’ in Notorious

Hip Hop got knocked sideways 24 years ago with the release of Notorious B.I.G.’s “Ready to Die,” a 17-track, autobiographical atomic bomb that began with the rapper’s birth “Intro” and closed with him making good on his “Suicidal Thoughts.” In between, he articulated vividly personal accounts of his everyday activity – guns, sex, weed, alcohol and hustling – and the number it’s done on his will to live.

It was this “kick in the door” side of Biggie that came as a complete shock to his own mother. She also felt that it didn’t show enough of her son’s good qualities. Watch below.
